Walk from Piazza Municipio to Piazza Plebiscito, with an external visit to the Angevin, the San Carlo theatre, the Royal Palace and the Galleria Umberto I and much more. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own by car to Herculaneum, the ancient city destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Explore the city's well-preserved ruins, including the Villa of the Papyri, House Argus, House Samnite. Then drive and visit Pompeii. Walking if you base the Forum, the temple of Apollo and Giove, the House of the Faun, the House of the Vettii, the House of the Tragic Poet with incredible sculptures and preserved statues, the Grand Theatre, the Amphitheater and the Villa dei Misteris, the palatial building più conservato. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own by car to Trani, visiting the beautiful Cathedral of St. Nicholas, the most outstanding example of Romanesque architecture in Puglia, and Castello Svevo. Return to Bari. Drive to Martina Franca, a charming town, where in addition to the famous trulli you can also tour the city center. Walk around the city and visit the beautiful Basilica of San Martino. Transfer to Ostuni, the picturesque “white city” located on top of a hill. Walk through the city, visit the baroque cathedral and the ruins of the 12th century castle. Continuation of the trip to Alberobello, a city inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, for the famous trulli, unique little houses with conical gray slate roofs. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own by car to Lecce, also called the Little Florence of the South, the center of baroque architecture. Walk around the city and explore, among other things, the Basilica of Santa Croce, the most beautiful baroque building in the area, Palazzo Celestini, Piazza del Duomo surrounded by numerous historical buildings, the perfectly preserved Roman amphitheater from the 1st BC. Later, transfer to Gallipoli, a fishing village. Tour through the old town with remains of the ancient splendor of Greece and Rome, and where the oldest fountain in Italy is located, built at the time of Greek domination. Narrow streets and charming cafes fully reflect the atmosphere of the old town. In the afternoon return to Bari. Dinner on your own and accommodation.
